phd/mphil application help (reference-centric)

countzero [Edit] [Delete] 16:58, 5 April '11

Say you already havea couple of MAs to your name and the dissertations for each earned distinctions

BUT:

Your tutors hate you because you never went to any classes and gave in your coursework (except for the dissertations) late and therefore got passes.

You reckon you'll get away from just getting references from the dissertation supervisors who know you were shit but really liked your dissertations?

I've actually written about 80,000 words and will be publishing some chapters in journals and shit like that.

Is it possible to do what they did in the old days and just shop around my finished thesis to different unis and give them 4 grand to stamp it with their authority?
