Was just at the pub in my run of the mill suburb of Sutton in the depths of south London for the Arsenal vs. Spurs game.

Bit of a meh result so stayed around for another drink to watch the Barcelona vs Madrid final hoping to see some awesome football.

Towards the end of extra time, this vaguely attractive, regular looking girl who had been making a bit of a scene of herself all night wanders back in from chain smoking outside to sit with her vaguely laddish normal looking boyfriend and his mates at the table next to us, and basically tries to persuade him, out loud, so I could clearly hear, to beat me up for little more reason than I looked "like a girl" (I have longish curly hair) and I was wearing "a ten year old pink Nike shirt".

Luckily her boyfriend seemed to have his head screwed on, and made clear to her, also out loud so that I could hear, that he was not into beating up guys that "look like girls", even though he also seemed to take some kind of mortal offence to my shirt.

Realising the guy was unlikely to pay attention to the girl's insistences, I tried to ignore it and me and my mate left soon after the game finished. But I mean, what the fuck?!

Obviously you get meatheads, thugs, idiots, scumbags and whatnot all over the place, even in relatively quiet suburbs, but this was a group of regular looking guys and girls in a nice enough pub on a Wednesday evening, who while a little tipsy were certainly not aggressively drunk.

I just can't understand the mentality of someone that would actively seek to do this, or someone that would be willing to put up with a girlfriend who did this sort of thing. Maybe its a blinkered view of society, but seriously, I didn't think this sort of thing existed in civilised places where people were just minding their own business.

Any other run ins with incredibly disappointing humans recently?

NB. My shirt isn't even pink, its kind of pale orangey red.
