Nintendo are definitely bringing out a new console. More rumours abound saying the flash memory in the thing which is still being designed will be less than my old Nokia phone. But nobody really knows, it just gives some dull 14 year olds license to rant about Xboxes being better than PS3s.The one thing Nintendo HAVE said is that the controller will have buttons. So that's nice. Wii drops in price and gets a cheap classic game range launched.

Portal 2 came out. Another thread with 100 odd replies suggests you lot like it.

Call of Duty backlash seems to continue on blogs with people saying the new maps are very underwhelming. Modern Warfare 3 is mooted as being far into development to get the core gamers back onside.

As for me, downloaded and completed Half Life 2: Episode 1 on my Mac despite it telling me AFTERWARDS that it wouldn't run. Well, it did, so I win. It's pretty cool, if basically Half Life 2 played in reverse without vehicles. I've since bought Part 2 and expect BIG things.

Also played a few games at a mates house who has all kinds of fancy things I can only dream of, such as Heavy Rain (intriguing) and Arkham Asylum (OH MY GOD WANT). I also started Silent Hill on the Wii (I gave up as it literally terrified me, but it looks properly good and one for the winter months) and Sin & Punishment 2, which may be the best thing I've ever played. It's why the Wii controller was invented, such is the superb level of control and satisfying movement. It's batshit insane being Japanese and rock solid. I've ordered it IMMEDIATELY (£15 most places) and shall play it henceforth upon arrival.
