People who bring back treats from holiday thread #26

PickledOeuf [Edit] [Delete] 14:57, 5 May '11

One of the women in the office is trying to kill me with spanish stuff.

First, I cracked a tooth on what looked like a delicate fluffy meringue, but turned out to be almonds set in honey and concrete.

Now, she's just given a 'rosco al licor'. it looks like a mini choux doughnut (hurrah), but is basically a ring-shaped solid form of sambuca (I've had to use a keyboard wipe on my tongue to try to get the taste off). WHY? Why owuld you do that? Why wou;d you make something taste of the abomination that is sambuca, but not have the redeeming feature of getting you blootered?

Why, Spanish people, why do you get us all excited with your delicious savoury goods and then try to kill us with your 'confections'.

Has anybody else been similarly poisoned by foreign muck since the end of the holidays? I think I need to go to hospital (again) :'(
