People dying and it being on the news

vamos [Edit] [Delete] 12:37, 9 May '11

This is going to happen more and more, isn't it?

I understand when important people die we ought to hear about it. Bin Laden counts I guess, as does Elisabeth Sladen.

But we only used to hear about people dying occasionally as there weren't so many famous people. Now that we're surrounded by 'celebrities', is the news going to increasingly have 23 deaths a day on it?

And where do you draw the line at who is worthy of being on the news?

A tough job I suspect:

'Seve has gone? 2nd item for sure. Cooper? Hmm, lovely chap... towards the end. WHAT?!? H from Steps got run over by a Real Madrid coach?!? Bump the Libya conflict into tomorrow'.

People dying eh? Inconsiderate and avoidable.
