if your food budget increased, what would you/wouldn't you spend more money on ?

iamwiggy [Edit] [Delete] 12:01, 3 June '11

for me: better sandwich fillings for lunch at work. after a period of buying basics ham (which was actually surprisingly acceptable) i have now changed to buying the cheapest 'normal' sainsburys ham. my parents buy even better ham tho, so when i'm back at their house i'm reminded of what i still miss out on.

however, you could give me a food budget of 100x what i spend now and i'd still buy basics/value/cheapest tinned tomatoes.

also, when i was at my parents house last weekend, my mum got taste the difference strawberries for the first time. they were incredible. she went back to full time work 18 months ago having done 3 days a week for many years, so all these little differences have crept in to the food she buys (also there are less of us in the house cos me and my sister have left home in recent years, who knows what'll happen in september when the twins go to uni).

i suppose it would make sense to ask how much you currently spend on food to give some context. i spend about £15 at my weekly shop and then another £5 a week picking up bits and bobs as i go.

after all the boring threads i've not been that excited about starting recently, i bet this'll end up with the least replies. or maybe i'll just fill it with replies myself.
