FAO - people whose parent's are far more successful than they are

chris-budget [Edit] [Delete] 15:37, 23 June '11

kinda inspired by moker's thread.

So - lets say your dad is some big-shot CEO of whatever, and you are some middling admin chump. What's that like? Do you feel like you are somehow under-performing? Did you ever assume you'd naturally rise to the top?

My folks have always been slight underachievers and I've kinda followed suite really and sometimes thought things might have panned out a bit different If I'd had more assertive role-models, but I've got some close friends whose parents have done very well, and they have still ended up in semi dead-end jobs - and it seems like they are less contented with their relative positions than me.
