Hi,

In the summer holidays, I normally buy a 'Glasgow Club' monthly pass for one month which gives you access to all Glasgow City council gyms and swimming pools. I went to buy one today but was told they no longer accept one-off transactions as payment and that my only option is to set up a direct debit, which requires 30 days notice for cancellation. I asked if I could set up a direct debit and immediately give notice so as to only pay for one month. The guy said "naaah the way it works out is you end up paying for two months..." wtf.

Is there a way of getting around this? I expect this sort of scam from private gyms but no aff the coonsil. It's an absolute joke.
