Telegraph complaining about Scottish Uni Fees for English Students.

xheathenx [Edit] [Delete] 12:32, 30 June '11

I'm surprised no one's started a thread on this.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/education/educationnews/8606470/English-students-to-pay-up-to-36000-to-study-in-Scotland.html

Complains that University's are being allowed to charge English students up to £9k per year to study in Scotland, whilst Scottish students studying in the same uni's will have their tuition fees subsidised. Wales is doing the same. It's likely NI will follow suit.

All Uni's in Britain are allowed to charge the same amount to students. The headline and initial paragraphs give the impression that it's specifically Scottish Uni's who will be shafting English students. When it's just a straight matter of English students being given the shaft regardless of where they'll be studying.

I expect to see more of this sort of anti-scottish propoganda as the referendum arrives.

To be fair, it makes a change from the anti-english rhetoric that's been rife up here for the last 200 or so years.
