i think for me it's 50%ish of my income going on rent* and then about 15%ish of my income goes on transport.

is that normal or does it sound like i'm mental?

they're the two most expensive things in my life by a crazy crazy margin, and a) i got incredibly lucky finding a room in a very nice flatshare for a very reasonable price and b) i live in zone 2, if i lived further out i'd be spending more on travel.

*i've got all bills included but let's ignore that, other than to say it's AWESOME.

i realise that this could get 0 replies cos talking about money isn't really polite. maybe a better question is how much do you think is reasonable to have to spend on housing and transport? have you ever lived somewhere so expensive that it's killed you? i'm sure most people have.
