So...Klitschko v Haye...

Reckoning [Edit] [Delete] 13:32, 4 July '11

What did y'all make of it?

For me, it was a massive diappointment. The heavyweight division needed a Haye victory just so it would have at least some life in it, even if just briefly, and he just wasn't up to it. Having said that, it did demonstrate that Klitschko is a worthy champion, and probably a little under-rated by folks.

The whole broken toe thing is a shame too, firstly as it would have affected Haye, but mainly because in mentioning it in the immediate aftermath, he's only succeeded in making himself look silly. Thankfully Adam Booth was more gracious in defeat and praised Klitschko for being the better fighter on the night.

I'm not really fussed what Haye does next. If he fights on and manages to persuade one of the klitschkos to face him again, it'll be the biggest fight in the division again, but if he retires, he'll at least have retained some dignity after banging on about his retirement for so long. If only the rest of the division wasn't so full of total bums, it wouldn't be such a problem.

In conclusion, Jim Watt can do one.
