Legal advice needed...please!

MrBones [Edit] [Delete] 10:41, 7 July '11

Anyone with even a bit of a clue/advice on who might, I would be so grateful if you could consider the following problem.

My pet dog has repetitive blood-clotting and often has to have expensive vetenary procedures to save her life (she is only very young). This is usually not too much of a burden as I pay for premium pet insurance which has unlimited and ongoing cover and has about two years to run.

The other day though, the vet phoned and said the insurance people (Argos) were refusing to pay, I contacted them and they said my policy only covered up to 7k for each disease, not 7k per anum (which is what I believed).

Considering they have already paid out 8.5k on a single complaint, it would seem I was correct, and going back to check my paperwork and policy documents, my thoughts were confirmed.

HOWEVER, when I phoned and wrote to their complaints procedure people, they said that I took out the policy on 15th June 2009, and it wasn't until 21st June 2009 that the new type of policy was instated for people. Meaning I missed out by SIX days. The trouble is, all of the documentation I was given about the policy was the 2009 versions applying to the 21st june policy.

I am in quite a state about this, If my dog hurts herself before I get this sorted I have no way of paying and there is every chance she might die.

Any thoughts, please?
