Thursday Gaming Thread

vamos [Edit] [Delete] 12:37, 7 July '11

Not much to report really.

Nintendo begin the process of shooting themselves in the foot by mentioning all the things that Wii U won't do instead of pointing out the cool things that it probably could. The 3DS will work with it as a controller but not online apparently.

Several tech mags in the States release stories saying a development kit for what will one day be a PS4 is circulating games studios. It includes motion sensing akin to Kinect and amazing graphics. I smell bullshit.

L.A. Noire developers have totally fallen out with Rockstar and the latter has said they'll never work with the team again. An investigation is ongoing over claims more than 130 members of staff never got credited with working on the game, weekly working hours topped 100+ hours and that the guy at the top creamed loads of cash out of the profits.

Sonic Generations demo ends today I think. Any good people?

Did I miss anything?

And did you all read that awesome piece about sexist Japanese storytelling I posted last week concerned Metroid: Other M?

I've been too busy to play games this week. I was somewhat disheartened by the EDGE redesign however. It seems like there's more mag for your money now, but equally it felt like I cared about the content a whole lot less.

I know redesigns always take a while to get used to but I found it all a lot simpler yet more busy and more laborious to wade through. I doubt I'll ever read a piece in the new 'Create' section too.

Still, they promise it's a w.i.p. and will be even more refined next issue so maybe it'll improve...?
