I only remember two of my babysitters. One, Kirsty was incredible, probably a bit mad, but a total whirl of energy who turned up and helped us build dens, would give terrifying piggy back rides through the house and bring stuff like tape recorders round so we could make our own radio show. I have no idea what she's doing now, but I hope it's something awesome, because she deserves it. In comparison, the other babysitter, Amelia, was massively, massively dull. I think I beat her Scrabble once, when she was 16 and I was 8. Sums her up.

I was only ever a babysitter once, when a new family moved in down the road and came and asked me if I could help out one night. I was probably about 16. The couple were both professional musicians in a big orchestra, so when we made small talk when I first showed up we got chatting about music and they started showing me their awesome record collection and playing vinyls at ridiculous volumes. They they left, and it was piss easy, the kids were about 13 so old enough to look after themselves, they watched a DVD and went to bed, I did some homework. THEN when the parents came back, they insisted I stayed for a drink, and sat either side of me on the sofa. It was at this point it dawned on me they were possibly creepy swingers, and I made my excuses and left. They moved out shortly afterwards.
