Music Social More…

The social acceptability of stuff.

partyheart [Edit] [Delete] 20:59, 20 July '11

Or specifically, stuff I'm doing right now, playing videogames and reading up about this DC comics reboot which, whilst never being a fan of comic books before, looks pretty interesting.

I'm not going to go on a big rant, but I just want to ask a question and see what your thoughts are. Why are some hobbies more socially acceptable than others? The obvious joke to make is that some hobbies are generally regarded as creepy (collecting human hands, I dunno) but you know what I mean.

So if you need an example, use comics. Why is reading comic books socially unacceptable?

Or if you want to use your own examples, that's totally cool. I was just thinking about how if I read comic books, I wouldn't advertise that fact. If an attractive asked me what kind of things I liked, I wouldn't say comic books. I'm just wondering why that is.
