Has anyone ever been on a surfing holiday with a 5-7 day course included?

Some friends have asked my girlfriend and I if we'd like to go with them on one next year in Lanzarote. She would love it, but my hatred of swimming is surpassed only by my hatred of the sea, so I'm less keen. You're only young once though, right?
