Dog was a medium size sturdy mastiff-type, Swan was a fully grown white swan.

Swan on edge of water, Dog on edge of land.

Both squared up to each other.

To my amazement, Dog backed down.

If it had coem down to it, my money was on the dog but I'm willing to concede if Swan had managed to get a blown in with the wings or trick Dog into water it might have taken it.
