Anyone remember a time when crime dramas were almost plausible?

prison_keith [Edit] [Delete] 00:23, 7 August '11

It was David Jason strolling around some corpse in a kitchen, then off to the office for a cup of tea and the completing of the relevant paperwork, concluding that the murderer was the husband (because that was a nice , plausible and acceptable conclusion), before finishing off the day sat alone in a curry house.

Now it’s a pair of twins on a serial killing spree playing a real life game of ‘world of warcraft’ or a killer who straps bombs to people in central London before getting them to call up the detective to read out something that makes the lead clue (a pair of 1970 trainers) somehow relevant.

Where can crime dramas go from here? I’ll tell you where
