Cheers “pal”, but my mother taught me to cross the road when I was a kid. The thing is, right, you stand on the pavement and wait for there to be no cars. Like, immediately after you’ve driven past me. Don’t take my standing by the road for weakness.

And of course as soon as they stop you need to increase your natural pace to cross, else you look like an ingrate, and probably give them a meek little thumbs up to apologise for being a carless peasant
