a girl came into our call centre last month with a black eye and a split lip. she'd just been mugged on the way into the building. she couldn't call the police at reception because security were on lunch and when she came up to the floor her team leader wouldn't let her call the police despite her obvious physical/emotional distress because he was aiming for 100% schedule adherence that day (he's a proper little company man). she ended up having to work an hour before the prick caved in and let her call the police (she was quite a meek soul but she finally stood up for herself). she was dismissed the next week for taking three days off work with stress. at the moment i believe she's taking them to an industrial tribunal.

i truly hate my job and the company i work for.
