Oyster card question (country bumpkin centric)

blobcow [Edit] [Delete] 16:01, 30 August '11

Could add some context to this but it's quite boring really. Need to get from home (Zone 9, seriously) to Victoria to get the Megabus to Leeds and I'm kinda confused. The station has two trains running through it- the tube train which is slow as hell and takes you straight to Baker Street or the speedy Chiltern Railways train which takes you to Marylebone.

My question is this. If I got the fast train to Marylebone, check out, walk to Baker Street, check in, head to Victoria, would I be charged for both the journey from Zone 9-1 and Zone 1-1 or would I just be charged once? Obviously if I took the tube I wouldn't have to check out until I got to Victoria, so that'd be fine.

I don't really care about the £1.70 extra or whatever it would cost me if I did have to change or the speed of the journey, just the principle of the idea more than anything. Clarity, please?
