The very dullest of domestic disputes - You decide!

rogerjones52 [Edit] [Delete] 23:30, 2 September '11

Ok.

So I work nights and return to the flat I share with the gf at about 7:30am. She has complained in the past that when I return home I slam the door and this startles/scares her (as she is in the flat on her own) and wakes her up. So from now on I have made sure to be more careful, closing the door gently.

HOWEVER, on one evening she asks me to wake her up when i come back from work in the morning, so on returning I close the door with wild abandonment (normally) and go into the bedroom to wake her up.

Her reaction is negative to very negative and I am asked why i slammed the door. 'because you asked me to wake you up, dearest' I reply, 'I didnt think i needed to be quiet if in the interim period of about 5 seconds after closing the door if i was going to wake you up anyway, honeybunnny?'

This turns into a period of arguing which results in her staying at her Mum's house.

So, who was in the right? I was definitiely in the right and did nothing wrong, wasn't I? This whole dispute is FUCKING MENTAL, isn't it?

MORE IMPORTANTLY, when I return tomorrow morning I should definetly slam the door really loudly, shouldn't I? That is definitely a good idea, definitely.
