do you ever just notice something in your city for the first time?

i was walking past the piccadily train station at the weekend and down the side of it (like from off walking from pic gardens down to the apollo) there's this area that curves in and is made of slabs. it's the sort of curved in area where the pavement gets deep (away from the road) and it should have benches or a fountain or something but it doesn't have any of that. what it does have though is these big metal slabs up against the wall (the wall that is essentially where the busses go up to the station) that have all these really weird looking faces coming out of them. like from off some geiger shit or something. i can't believe i've never noticed these before. they don't look new and it looks like the sort of pavwement area where a rapey guy touches a drunk girl at night. has anyone else ever seen this or just suddenly noticed something in their own city that they never saw before?
