Bicycle shop repairs etiquette

GayGuevara [Edit] [Delete] 13:57, 11 October '13

As you may recall, I recently had the handlebars and related components stolen off my bike.

The store where I bought it (Evans) have given me a quotation for repairs, but some of the components quoted are 'equivalent' parts rather than matching the originals (which they don't stock).

Is it acceptable to buy some of the parts from Evans which they do stock, buy the rest of the original matching parts from various online retailers (which aren't Evans), but take them all to Evans to have them fitted.

In short, is it acceptable to get one bike shop to fit stuff you bought online from a different retailer?
