Man won't pay back £500 deposit on a house we hired for the weekend. Claims we damaged a unit and now he has to replace it. The unit was already damaged. Basically he used to rent out the property - we were the last group in - and he's now moved back into it himself. Clearly just spotted some pre-existing damage and we're the unlucky bastards that he's going to get to pay for it.

I'm just going to have to take the bullet on this one aren't I? If I tried the small claims court or whatever it would come down to 'respectable' landlord vs stag-do. Don't fancy my chances.
