This great thriller portrays cruising as a danger-seeking and astoundingly repetitive affair (the images in the car park are brilliant), intimately linked to death itself. There’s a interesting contrast between the sunny optimism of the afternoon scenes and the sinister oppressiveness of the sunset ones.
Beautiful, raw, explicit, disturbing, minimalist, passionate and very dark - “Hitchcockian”. Amazing haunting images, spectral sounds and excellent performances. Definitely one of the best films I saw this year.
