If I quit my job to move city are there any welfare resources available to me?

Pegfeet [Edit] [Delete] 12:50, 21 October '14

Looking like my boyfriend and I may be moving to Bristol in the new year as he has been offered a job in the area. I'm very happy to move with him as I love Bristol and hate my job. Obviously I'd been keen to get a job down there as soon as possible, but know it can take a fair old while to get anything at the moment, and wondered if I'd have any access to welfare in the interim? I know you can't claim JSA for a few months if you quit a job but was wondering if there was some kind of housing benefit I could claim, or if there's any other support available for people in my position. I've tried Googling, but finding it really hard to make sense of any information.
