Protesters inadvertently undermining themselves

Antpocalypsenow [Edit] [Delete] 13:40, 12 December '14

Is this a thing? I've got a sneaking suspicion it might be a thing.

DISCLAIMER: This post contains sweeping statements for the purposes of serving a point which is probably ill-informed bollocks.

Basically do you think it's counter-productive when people who take part in massive protests tend to be walking cliches of what a protester looks like. I feel like it's probably counter-productive. It's easier for a person to (incorrectly obviously) write off a viewpoint or stance when it is being voiced by an extreme example of that viewpoint (dreadlocked hippies protesting environmental issues etc)

I feel like there's probably some kind of conspiracy about this as well, like the BBC coverage of the Unite protests from a while ago seemed to use people for their vox-pops who they must have known would be immediately discredited based on appearance.

This is fucking nonsense and it's Friday, what the fuck am I doing?
