Last night I *nearly* fell into a freshly dug grave

Smee [Edit] [Delete] 10:21, 7 January '15

I was out for a run about 10 at night and thought it would be cool to run through this massive graveyard in the full-moon lit darkness.

It was indeed cool but after about 5 minutes I started to get scared and was running a bit faster than I wanted to be. I was on a path parallel to the main path that leads to the exit and was looking for an adjoining path to run down on the way out. As it was dark and I wasn't wearing contacts I kept running straight past the adjoining paths, not being sure if they were just gaps between the graves.

After running past about three of these I thought "fuck this the next one I think I see I'm going for it". Which I did, but it wasn't a path and I found myself running in squelchy mud amongst the graves. They weren't very uniformly laid out so I was kind of zigzagging between them and running straight over them, all the time imagining a hand popping out and grabbing my ankle or something.

I was running pretty fast by this point and then suddenly at the last minute I saw a big black patch just in front of me and only realised at the very last moment that it was an open grave. Thinking that all my nightmares had come true I jumped for dear life (diagonally, not across the whole length) and just made it. I then sprinted to the exit without looking back.

Cheers
