Watched it a few years ago, remember enjoying at the time, but I can't remember enough about it anymore and I'm struggling to find out what it was.

This is all I have:

- fairly recent film when I watched it (on DVD) so probably around 2005-2007
- quite sombre and really well shot, some of the city scenes reminded me of scenes from Her
- it had linked stories from around the world, including Japan and (I think) France and the USA
- it's NOT Lost in Translation, which is about the only thing searching has come up with

Anyone have any ideas?
