Labour Party education policy.

BritpopForever [Edit] [Delete] 09:48, 13 February '15

I don't really get it. It seems to be based on three key initiatives:

1) All state school teachers must be 'qualified'.
2) Primary school class sizes will be restricted to the 30 children.
3) They will introduce 'school standards tsars'.

I thought class sizes already were restricted to 30 children by law? And is the 'school standard tsars' thing not what Ofsted does already?

So that leaves the policy about teachers being 'qualified'. Personally, I think it's pretty bollocks (and i'm not sure it's even that popular a policy more generally?) but I can't see it being enough itself to win people over.

And then you've got Tristram Hunt. I don't dislike him, but i'd say he's a pretty bad choice politically.

Hmm, interesting...
