It's mental how rubbish the X-Files Series 1 finale is compared to most of the earlier episodes ('Squeeze', 'Space', 'Eve', 'Beyond the Sea', 'Lazarus', 'Young at Heart', 'Miracle Man', 'Tooms', 'Born Again', 'Roland'). Weirdly, it was hugely popular with the critics and still is amongst fans.
