How are you supposed to let someone know you fancy them?

keyfob [Edit] [Delete] 11:19, 10 September '15

I've mainly skim-read the moker thread and I think both the people in that article are twats in different ways but some of your responses got me thinking... how are you supposed to let someone know you find them attractive? Assuming you're both colleagues with similar positions of power, of similar age and attractiveness?

Or are you not supposed to because physical attraction is just lust, and lust is evil?

I've confessed my attraction to a couple of people, but in this case it was during university and I'm young and not bad looking (in an awkward way) but nothing good came out of them. In fact I felt a bit guilty afterwards, as though it was my fault for falling in love with a pretty face instead of a personality. I get the impression that's how I'm supposed to feel, but these were people in my classes who I knew of for a long time... I didn't speak to them much (because I'm a scaredy cat and I felt like I had no proper reason to), but I "noticed" them. I wasn't even attracted to them initially, it just developed over time. I think you can easily develop a crush on someone you see a lot, but don't really talk to. There's an element of mystery there, which is attractive. There's also apparently a psychological reason why you find certain people really attractive: http://www.lovesicklove.com/2010/10/are-we-attracted-to-people-who-look-like-us.html

So how do you let someone know you fancy them, or are you not really allowed to because it's against the laws of God and nature?
