Reading philosophy

smallpox_champion [Edit] [Delete] 21:11, 23 March '06

Does anyone else find it more hard than it's worth. I mean, I read Thus Spoke Thus Spoke Zarathustra and it was readable/interesting (even though I didn't agree with lots of it) but then I tried to read Beyond Good and Evil and didn't understand it at all. So then I tried to read Descartes and just got bored. I understand that's only two philosophers mentioned so I may have just chosen the wrong ones or is it the same for all of them? Surely I can get the general ideas from a summary and make up my own mind from stuff like that. So should I carry on trying or is it really just not worth it?
