It is believed the band did not announce it earlier because of those pesky major labels. Some agreement now seems to have been reached between Chris' label Interscope and Rage's Epic.
In accordance to the agreement the band will not be able to release under the name "Rage Against the Machine" allowing hilarious people to think of hilarious puns till a new name is agreed. Can't Wait!
