Thank Punk For Summer!
DiSvsMatt by Mat Hocking July 4th, 2001
This Summer looks set to become a memorable in the eyes of all you punkers out there, with an array of talent making there way over to our shores to rock our punky l'il world! First up, we have the rocktastic Reading & Leeds festivals which are playing host ot the goosebump-inducing Concrete Jungle Stage. Of the bands set to make it over, we have the pleasure of:

Save Ferris
Dropkick Murphys
Mad Caddies
Snapcase
28 Days
Ignite
Linea 77
Rocket From The Crypt
Reel Big Fish

as well as home-grown talent from:

Kids Near Water
Capdown
and
Snuff

Other punky bands set to make an appearance at the festival include:

Green Day
The Living End
The Donnas
Rancid
Ash
Amen
King Adora
Crackout
Hundred Reasons
Murder City Devils
Little Hell
Lost Prophets
(OK, so they're not *that* punky but they rock, so there!)

And if that's not enough a couple of weeks later renowned punk rock label Epitaph have announced that a tour featuring a handful of it's most promising new bands will be hitting our fair isle. Featuring the Bouncing Souls, Guttermouth, Bombshell Rocks and rising cockney young uns Mouthwash, the 'PUNK'O'RAMA' Tour 2001 kicks off in Manchester, winding it's way around Europe before settling in Newport.

These are the dates:

12.09.01 UK Manchester / Hop & Grape
14.09.01 UK London / LA II
05.10.01 UK Brighton / Sallis Benney Theatre
06.10.01 UK Newport / Tj´s

And just to round off what looks to be probably the finest years of live punk rock goodness, Good Riddance have announced plans for a short tour after their appearance at Reading & Leeds:

17.10.01 UK Birmingham / The Irish Centre
