"Lovesick druggie" Doherty's suicide attempt denied by manager
TheBoyDeadly by TheBoyDeadly October 8th, 2007

Peter Doherty's manager has revealed that his perma-troubled charge did not try to commit suicide during a recent spell in rehab.

Reports on Sunday claimed the Babyshambles crooner was pushed on by 'phone conversations with Croydon's Katherine Moss - an ex-squeeze - in which she "showed off her new man".

Ever responsible 'paper of record the News of the World printed Johnny 'Headlock' Jeannevol's claims in an article about "the lovesick druggie" yesterday.

But manager Andy Boyd has not only denied the claims, but also denied that Jeannevol is Doherty's minder.

"He saw an opportunity to take an overdose and took it," the NotW quoted Jeannevol. "He told me he didn't know what the pills were but thought ‘fuck it' and took them all."

"He doesn't care what drugs do to him — in fact, he likes finding out."

Both Doherty and redtop hack Douglas Wright were to be left disappointed, however.

"...just like his relationship with the catwalk queen, things didn't work out for Pete, who failed in the suicide bid after he was violently sick."

Doherty was recently released from the Wiltshire clinic after tests showed he'd not taken drugs for the last six weeks. It was a close run thing apparently.

"Pete was so low during rehab his legal team considered sectioning him under the Mental Health Act," says another 'pal', who will no doubt be happy that everything is now absolutely fine.
