Querelle have been creating an incredible commotion in the capital and back home in Italy with their live shows. They have an incredible stage presence and leave newcomers shell-shocked with their explosive post punk, a cross between The Lapse, Sonic Youth and Unwound. Wonderful. A must see band!
Support comes from Econoline...OK it's not Econoline, but Ian Scanlon on his own. Specialising in infectious tunes by borrowing bits from his Wolf Colonel and Bob Mould records. Whilst Cat On Form are the sound of cross young men equipped with scratchy guitars. Featuring (ex)members of The Oedipus, Extra Man and Desalvo, they use the virtues of discordance, freeform expression, agit-shouting and dynamic loss of control, to wage war on the myriad evils of modern day banal music.
David Line and Kevin Hendrick from Infectious Records indie-rock band Seafood will man the wheels of steel. They'll play your favourite records in a John Peel whatspeedisthissupposedtobe-esque way.
The show is being put on to celebrate the release of '[nopassingphase] #1', which features some of the best up and coming acts in Europe (inc. the likes of 53mph, Aereogramme, The Dudley Corporation & Econoline) more info on the release can be found on the official website.
