Dinosaur Jr. offer DiS readers a sneaky first listen to 'I Want You To Know'
lukowski by Andrzej Lukowski April 29th, 2009

DiS has a track for you to hear from the forthcoming Dinosaur Jr. album....

Though it’s still not particularly clear whether or not J Mascis and Lou Barlow actually like each other, this whole ‘reunion’ lark has gone pretty darn well for them and old mucker Murph, with 2007’s Beyond easily the best Dinosaur Jr album since the Eighties.

Cliche has been further defied as the trio continue to not kill each other, going on to bash out another album in orderly fashion. Farm is due June 22, but DiS can bring you a first taster as a UK exclusive.

‘I Want You To Know’ is prime Dinosaur Jr – a tender melodic whine amplified and distorted to suitably kick ass proportions; a bit like appointing a basket of kittens as commandants of a tank. Of course there are no big surprises or directional volte faces – Dinosaur Jr either sound super loud and super brilliant, or they sound like a sort of rubbish country band.

This, my friends, is the good shit.
