Friday Feeling: Video Lovelies
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater May 15th, 2009

Ever imagined what it's like to have a dysfunctional compound eye? No, us neither, but today's Friday Feeling is one which gives you a little bit of insight into that particular ailment.

The concept of it is fairly simple, but the results pretty astonishing. YooouuuTuuube takes a standard - or not so standard - YouTube video and multiplies it on a massive grid, for it to be replayed in sequence on each row and column with delays, panning and rhythmic sequences.

Easily the best video we've seen so far is this Alice In Wonderland one. The original video itself is impressive enough, but something happens when you stick it into YooouuuTuuube and it CLICKS. The changes even happen in time to the beat of the drum! See below for a screen cap. Alice Practice Youtuuube

Here are a few others which work as well.

Royksopp - 'Remind Me'

Venetian Snares - 'Szamár Madár' and again.

Busby Berkeley - 'Gold Diggers'

Beastie Boys - 'Intergalactic'

And moving on from one Beastie Boys video to another, here's some kids doing the video 'Sabotage'.

Sabotage from Rich West on Vimeo.

What amazing YooouuuTuuube videos can you come up with? Surely nobody will be able to beat Alice, but give it your best shot.
