Thom Yorke and Atoms For Peace newsorama!
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater April 7th, 2010

You may have noticed that Thom Yorke's Atoms For Peace - featuring Flea, Mauro Refosco, Nigel Godrich and Joey Waronker - have played a couple of shows in recent days (Monday and Tuesday) in New York City, at the Roseland Ballroom.

Aired to those gathered was a set chock-full of tracks from Eraser as well as, and more importantly, a new track, which Thom played on his own with the aid of an electrical guitar. You can watch that below, as well as a very muffled rendition of 'Everything In Its Right Place', should you be able to put up with the lack of sound quality.

Apparently Flea, the bassist, was less than happy with his performance, saying:

"I made so many mistakes tonight. It'll be better tomorrow night. It was the same when we played those shows in LA [in October 2009]. The first show was full of mistakes but it got better for the second and third. It’s OK though because Thom is such a natural musician. Everything he does sounds beautiful."

Thankfully NME.com have handily provided a setlist in their article, so we'll reproduce it below. Thanks. The set was:

  1. 'The Eraser'
  2. 'Analyze'
  3. 'The Clock' 4.'Black Swan'
  4. 'Skip Divided'
  5. 'Atoms For Peace'
  6. 'And It Rained All Night'
  7. 'Harrowdown Hill’
  8. 'A Walk Down The Staircase'
  9. 'The Daily Mail'
  10. 'Everything In Its Right Place'
  11. 'Paperbag Writer'
  12. 'Judge, Jury And Executioner'
  13. 'Hallow Earth'
  14. 'Feeling Pulled Apart By Horses'

As we didn't send anyone along to review either of the two shows (Oops!) you'll have go to other websites for a critical breakdown. Like the New York Times. You can also view some photos of the show at Brooklyn Vegan. Perhaps primed for a few festival appearances this side of the Atlantic?!
