Listen: Max Tannone remix Mos Dub
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater April 7th, 2010

You may remember Max Tannone, whose name sounds like a beauty product crossed with an Italian political philosopher - from his previous 'mashup' work done for The Beastie Boys (Doublecheck Your Head) and the Jay-Z vs. Radiohead deal that was Jaydiohead.

He now returns with something new, this time setting Mos Def tracks to music of 'classic dub and reggae' (via Sheena Beaston). Whilst these things are often quite crap, this rises above the frivolity and is a genuine thing of quality, though you could always debate its longevity...I have to say 'History Town' is the finest chunk.

Listen to the whole thing below. No prizes other than pride for picking out the 'classic' tracks.

Album art, if you can call it that, looks like this:

Where's the Judge Dread, eh?! More Max Tannone stuff can be found here.
