New Les Savy Fav album in September?
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater June 4th, 2010

It was 2007, we had a Labour government and things like Twitter hadn't fully taken hold of the nation's consciousness. That was when Les Savy Fav released their most recent album, Let's Stay Friends, but the good news now is that there's a new one on the way, hopefully sooner rather than later, too.

NME.com reports that their next album is being pencilled in for a September release, as the band are currently working with Chris Zane, who also did production work on Inches, as well as more recent stuff with Passion Pit and a few others. All good news, and not before time, I tell thee.

Syd Butler told the NME that the new one would be, if not a departure from their previous record, then at least a little bit heavier. He said:

"We're not buying atmospheric gizmos to fill out space on the songs. "They're all three-and-a-half minutes long, they're more compact and concise. This record feels a lot more '90s – closer to our roots."

I doubt it'll be that different to what's come before and neither should that be a problem. Just carry on doing what you're doing and everything will be fine, for us and for you.
