First raft of bands confirmed for SWN festival 2010
JoeDiddly by Luke Slater July 30th, 2010

So, as the announcement of bands for the rest of the festival season slowly dries up for obvious reason, let us not forget that there are festivals which take place outside of the Summer months. Some of them are actually pretty good. Such as SWN festival, which returns for its fourth year in 2010.

This year's event runs from Thursday October 21 til Saturday October 23, across various venues and bars across the capital of Wales, Cardiff. As ever, it's co-curated by Welsh Radio 1 DJ Huw Stephens, a great champion of music both new and Welsh, and often both. This year there'll be over 100 acts and the first lot of them has just been released. Here's who you can expect to see and hear at SWN 2010.

Al Lewis, Arabrot, Bellini, Bryn Fon A'r Band, Colorama, Crash.Disco!, Evening Chorus, Fiction, Happy Birthday, Huw M, Joe Worricker, John Mouse, Kutosis, Paul Heaton, Perfume Genius, Right Hand Left Hand, Spectrals, Standard Fare, Sun Drums, Swans, Teeth, The Ex, The Last Republic, Violas, We//Are//Animal, Wickes

Some information about tickets would be handy right now, huh? Good.

Stroller Wristbands give you free and priority access to shows in the 'stroller' area of the festival, this is subject to the individual capacity of each venue, mind. You can get a 3-day stroller wristband for £45, a Saturday one for £25, a Friday one for £15 and a Thursday wristband from £10. They are available from August 1 from here and here.
