Kurt Vile, Steve Mason, DiS stage, Bella Union and more confirmed for Liverpool SoundCity

Most major cities in the UK now seem to have their own multi-venue festivals and Liverpool's Sound City is in the running to be one of the best this year...

Sound City takes place from Thurs 19th - Sat 21st May 2011 in Liverpool. DiS will be hosting a stage all three nights of the festival at the Kazimier and we can confirm our first headliner is the absolutely incredible Kurt Vile (pictured) with them there Violators of his. We'll announce our full line-up in due course but for now here's who else is appearing at the event:

Previously announced bands include Black Lips, Forest Swords, Jamie xx, SBTRKT, The Whip, and Wave Machines. New additions to the bill announced yesterday include: Frank Turner, Steve Mason, Funeral Party, Kurt Vile & The Violators, Mona, Three Trapped Tigers, Yuck, The Chapman Family, Veronica Falls, Lower Than Atlantis, Zeus, Niki & The Dove and DiS-favourites worriedaboutsatan.

The event also has a conference element and speakers include Simon Raymonde of the fantastic Bella Union label, who'll be in conversation with Eric Pulido from Midlake. Also co-founder of last.fm and man behind the RjDj and Inception apps, Michael Briedenbrucker will be having a chatter about what they're upto. Other speakers include Dave Haynes, SoundCloud, VP Business Development; Ian Hogarth, Songkick, CEO; Alex White, CEO of Next Big Sound; Rupert Cogan: Last.fm, Media Partnerships & Events Coordinator; Robert Thomas, RjDj, CCO, Reactive Music Producer; Mark Rock, AudioBoo, CEO; Adam Perry, BandApp, CEO; Malcolm Dunbar, MD, Pledge Music; David Courtier-Dutton, Slicethepie CEO; Stephen King, Believe Digital, MD and many more, including some chap called Sean Adams from something called 502 errors are DiS.
