Blood Red Shoes, Antlers, Factory Floor +more confirmed for DiS stage at Summer Sundae Festival
sean by Sean Adams April 12th, 2011

In 2011, not only will DiS be hosting stages at The Great Escape and Liverpool SoundCity but we'll also be returning to the UK's greatest boutique festival, Summer Sundae.

This year is the 11th year of Summer Sundae and the festivities will be taking place on the weekend of August 12th-14th, at Leicester's De Montfort Hall and Gardens. DiS has curated a line-up at the festival for the past four years, putting on our favourites, ranging from Wild Beasts and Futureheads through Frightened Rabbit and Los Campesinos! to Gold Panda and Fuck Buttons. We even had Noah & the Whale come play for us the week they were bothering the upper echelons of the chart.

This year, DiS will attempt to follow last year's triumphant Sunday night in De Montfort Hall celebrating our 10th Anniversary, with a Sunday night in De Montfort Hall featuring, we believe, the very best 2011 has to offer.

Headlining our stage this year will be the greatest live band in the UK (probably) and long-time friends of DiS, whose last album Fire Like This, saw them grow even bigger all over planet earth and became - probably to their surprise - regulars on the daytime BBC Radio1 playlist. We're delighted that Steven and Laura-Mary, better known as Blood Red Shoes, will join us for one of their very few festival appearances this summer, and share material from their third album. Here's a little reminder of how awesome the band are live:

We're not announcing the full bill today but we can confirm that our supporting cast for the evening ranges from those goose-bump inducing Americans Antlers to the gloriously immense Scots The Phantom Band. And, and, and if that wasn't enough to whet your appetite, we have also booked the most exciting new band in the UK, who blend electronica, drone, kraut and disco into a uniquely throbbing clusterfuck of noizy wonder: Factory Floor.

So that's Sunday 14th of August 2011 at De Montfort Hall in Leicester, Book the day after off work now and grab a ticket over at summersundae.com/tickets

DiS can also reveal some new additions to the Summer Sundae bill, and the day splits, which now look like this:
