Myspace launch label with major backing
Mike_Diver by Mike Diver November 8th, 2005
Myspace has launched its own music label, with the help of Universal's Interscope sublabel.

The Myspace label will be marketed and distributed by Interscope, and the first release is a compilation entitled Myspace Records Volume 1, featuring AFI, Weezer (pictured) and Fall Out Boy. Bet that title took hours to think up.

The album's out in the US on November 15th. Myspace president Tom Anderson is currently eyeing some four acts after signing Hollywood Undead. Tracklisting of the comp is as follows:

AFI - 'Rabbits Are Roadkill on Rt. 37'
New Years Day - 'Ready, Aim, Misfire'
Socratic - 'Lunch For The Sky'
Click Five - 'Angel To You (Devil To Me)'
Say Anything - 'Every Man Has A Molly'
Fall Out Boy - 'Nobody Puts Baby In The Corner (Acoustic)'
Dashboard Confessional - 'Hands Down'
Waking Ashland - 'I Am For You'
Weezer - 'We Are All On Drugs'
Hollywood Undead - 'No. 5'
Against Me! - 'Don't Lose Touch'
Tila Tequila - 'Straight Up'
All-American Rejects - 'Stab My Back'
Summer Obsession - 'Melt The Sugar'
Plain White T's - 'Take Me Away'
Copeland - 'Pin Your Wings'
Jupiter Sunrise - 'Arthur Nix'

Myspace currently has over 35 million users and is owned, essentially, by Rupert Murdoch's Newscorp.
