Olympic Lifts announce headline tour
George by George January 28th, 2003
DiS is pant wettingingly excited to report the return of the live extravaganza known as OLYMPIC LIFTS!

Hailing from Belfast and described as "the Beastie Boys new favourite band and as delinquent cousins of Gonzales", Olympic Lifts have shared stages with the likes of DJ Cool Herc, David Holmes, Midfield General, 3rd Eye Foundation, Lo-Fidelity Allstars and Supergrass but there's a rowdiness in their rhythms that also nods to Dirty Beatniks, Urban Dance Squad and occasionally even Junkie XL. DJ Mark has also worked his decks at the launch of David Holmes' LP and the Ash end of tour aftershow party.

Catch them over the next 2 weeks at:

January
Fri 31st: Hull Adelphi

February
Sat 1st: Nottingham Junktion 7 (DJ Set only)
Mon 3rd: Leeds Royal Park Cellars (support from Beretta & Cypher)
Tue 4th: York Fibbers
Wed 5th: Oxford Point @ the Zodiac
Thurs 6th: Southampton Joiners Arms (support from The Equidistant Sound & Subgiant)
Fri 7th: Brighton Freebutt (support from Meme & Tome)
Sat 8th: London Upstairs at the Garage part of the Strange Fruit club night, support from Vic Twenty)
Mon 10th: Liverpool Academy
Wed 12th: Manchester Night and Day
Thurs 13th: Glasgow Barfly

Da ‘Lifts will be following the UK tour with an appearance at the South by Southwest festival in Texas, and 6 weeks in Europe. Got it?
