Pop Idols Signed. Spice Girl Dumped. Pop News Ahoy
shadyadie by [redacted] January 8th, 2004
Latest news bites from the pop music world...

Oh hell. Pop Idol losers Sam Nixon and Mark Rhodes have been signed by programme-creator Simon Fuller, and release their debut single next month. It's a cover of The Beatles' 'With A Little Help From My Friends'.

Winner Michelle, who released her debut single on Monday (which will be No. 1 with a bullet on Sunday), said "I’m delighted for the boys. They really deserve it."

Speaking of The Beatles, Busted's mates McFly's debut single '5 Colours In Her Hair' (inspired by Sooz from 'As If') has that early Beatles vibe about it. It's not released till the end of March but you can hear a clip of it here. Oh, and they're like sooooooooo cuuuuuuuuuuuuute as well.

In Pop Stars Getting Dumped news, Melanie C has finally lost her deal with Virgin, and now plans to release her own records from now on. Good girl. Meanwhile, Triple 8 (who were the crap version of Five) have been dumped by Polydor (although they claim they 'left'. Yes, right), and there are even rumours alfoat that S Club 8 are going to split. Well, they are getting on a bit now, so it's time for the production line to spurt out Foetus Club 9 or something. The rumour's probably a load of bollocks anyway.

Girls Aloud, according to one of their fansites, are to release their first American single. 'No Good Advice' will hit the shelves there in May, with a big promotional push in the media. The American version of their album is set to include a bonus track called 'You Freak Me Out'.
