Festival update: Reading sells out, V adds names and Iceland expands
gdobson by Gareth Dobson July 21st, 2004
All tickets for this year's Reading leg of the Carling Weekend (27-29th August) have now sold out - both day and weekend passes. There are however, a small number of tickets for the Leeds site.

However, we here at Drowned in Sound will be giving away a pair of passes to each of the venues in the coming weeks, so maybe you'll still get lucky, eh?

Taking place a week before, the V Festival in Hylands Park, Chelmsford and Weston Park, Staffordshire, have announced that R'n B queen of the moment, Kelis, will be performing, starting with a Saturday appearance down south and the following day in the Midlands.

Also added to the V bill are Kevin Mark Trail, Fried, Rooster and Rodrigo Y Gabriela.

Day tickets for both locations are still available.

In the autumn, the Iceland Airwaves Festival takes place in.. yes, Iceland. Joining Keane, The Stills, Radio 4, The Shins and Magnet on the bill will be the newly announced To Rococo Rot, Non Phixion, London Elektricity and Worm Is Green.

Across the hemisphere, the Livid Festival in Australia has been cancelled this year, citing a lack of available headline acts. Which, looking at the festivals around Europe this summer, isn't an entirely untrue statement.
